So, Do you read on Sunday?

How is your Sunday? I love Sundays. I am a Sabbath baby, born on a Sunday morning , bonny and blithe, good and gay. When we used to sing songs in kindergarten, gay meant, merry. By habit, I plan my week on Sundays and am sure most of us do. It is just a day to relax, emotionally, socially and spiritually for Christians and others. So how do you spend your Sunday? With family and loved ones? That is great, do you take a few minutes to go through articles? Find new recipes, trends in fashion, read a column or two about your favorite topics? Its the start of a new week and someone would like to give you a few tips on how to be more efficient at work. Or you just want to find release from the tension ahead in advance so let a writer take your mind away.

I believe people should read an article or two on Sunday. In the evening at least, for two reasons. First, Sunday evenings are very serene. Serenity is good for a read and as you relax. Second, there are very good articles on Sunday. I am a fan of Yusuf K. Dawood' s colum 'Surgeon's Diaries'  in Sunday Nation. Mwalimu Andrew, you know those small things that actually thrill your mind? You don't have to read an entire novel, a thousand pages. Reading articles is a good way to cultivate a reading culture even in people who aren't such great readers. You don't have to own a library, yet reading is very important and good for your mental health. It helps you find release from your routine activities and see life from someone's else's perspective. It provides you with knowledge and refreshes your lifestyle in a very unique way. If you are a student, reading articles gives you a chance to expand your knowledge and lose the rigidity that omes from the use of big terms.and its monotony. It renews your mind.

There are a lot of articles on magazines and in our newspapers. The best thing is that these articles are very diverse and they provide you with a variety to select from. Writers in different fields give you different stories and amazing facts. Medicine, entertainment, economics, art but to mention a few. Kenya has a number of great writers and columns, have you seen how short Chris Hart's works are? Most of these writers are also professionals in their fields and have a great deal of new.knowledge to share. So how about a read once in a while?
