The world is a funny place. All the drama going around. Do you realize how so easily controversy arises? How we do what politicians and the media want us to do? We are swept away by every piece of nonsense they give to us. So how often do you evaluate what you hear? Because there should be a filter to sieve away the chaff. That is what gives us an identity. That is what defines us. Being different and having one's own opinion about matters. As an African, I pride myself in such cultural identity, African, Kenyan to be precise. It's from here that I see the rest of the world.
I am particularly amused by Western politics. No, I do not admire their ways, I am purely a spectator. I am intrigued by how efficiently Western politicians play around mass psychology. It is even more interesting how we get caught in it. They don't choose who to play, just anyone their court passes by becomes the b.ball. They dribble you and dunk you down the loop. Look at gay people. They are a minority and so are black people. The players know they can't be playing the growth card, 'I'll bring infrastructure and laptops or free education to you' of course it's a developed country so they play the I care for minorities card, 'I stand with gay people. They have rights too. 'The Hollywood culture, it's about making people happy. Whatever makes you happy. You want to rebel? Does it make you happy? That's all that matters. No one ever pauses to ask why everything os so easy and accessible in this context. I am glad to be African. It is among the few places where people are still free to actually live. Our African state of mind is our freedom. It has us thinking, why should we be influenced to change our culture? How is it benefiting us?
Surely our culture is important. You know what else is? Other people respecting it. I got to say because gayism is creeping in. Unfortunately it is supposed to be fancy and sooner or later trendy. No I don't hate gay people but I can't honestly say I support gayism. Why? Because it's not a matter of changing times as the West would have you believe. It is a political matter. Yes they are just involving you in their quest for power. Who? Politicians who aren't even in your country. I wish people would refuse to be.influenced in this manner. The politicians aren't gay.
Do you realize how they play the 'black president card too?' Again am African, so i appreciate a black president in a super power. Only I realize that he was used to appeal to the public. As an act of advancing other interests. A black president probably means Africans will jump at the thought. Yes we did, of course. Yet from where I am, I see a people who took away Africa's wealth by not only colonizing it but taking as much as they could from us. Yes they took slaves, minerals among other resources. I see something that belongs to us in the West and which was forcefully taken. No I am not a white person hater. Everyone is important and furthermore we need one another to exchange ideas, trade and get along. But then we need to make our continent beautiful and dance to our own music and wear our hair like we are supposed to. We should not want to identify with another group of people. We should be able to give and receive from them. No, our culture doesn't understand gayism or the Hollywood mentality and we don't need it. We need other countries to respect us. That is how they respect our culture not by forcing theirs upon us. Am not living the American dream, I am living my dream. This is my African state of mind being expressed. My opinion. I appreciate education, it is probably the only good thing the West brought. But look at the price we paid. Slaves, loss of wealth and they won't let us be with our culture.
I like our relations with the East. Some say, we don't know what the Dragon wants, maybe, but at least we maintain our cultural identity. Yes, at times I wonder what would be had we been left to be barbaric be polygamous and pagans. Things would have worked out somehow. All the same, i appreciate education. It has aided my african state of mind.
